Research Investigator


The Research Investigator is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by performing independent hands-on experimental work utilizing mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, and other analytical techniques.

In this role, you will: 
  • Laboratory experience: High-resolution MS, LC-MS(/MSn), (U)HPLC and related techniques.
  • Develops, validates, and writes analytical methods and operating procedures according to specific sample or testing requirements.
  • Leads client projects and works in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Performs data analysis and interpretation including isolation, purification, chemical structural elucidation, and identification of unknowns. Prepares concise and well-written scientific reports.
  • Complies with all cGMP and safety requirements, operating procedures, and company policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to teamwork for solving problems and serving clients.


  • M.S. with 3 years of experience, or B.S. with 10 years of relevant experience in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology.
  • Substantial mass spectrometric experience (both theory and practice).
  • Critical thinking and problem solving capabilities.
  • High level of independence and the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent communication skills are required for interacting with colleagues and clients.


  • Analytical and chromatographic experience in method development and validation.
  • Work experience in a pharmaceutical environment is desirable, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a chemical or biochemical field.
  • Experience with separation and characterization of small and large molecules.
  • Experience with experimental design, troubleshooting experiments, and interpretation of data.
